Green Tip: Adding Sustainability to Your Seder Plate
With spring (finally!) on the way, there will soon be “green tips” on all the plants in your garden. Here are some tips from the TBS Green Team for doing some greening inside your home, as well, by making more environmental-sound choices for your Passover celebration – from the ways we tell our families the Passover story, to the food we prepare and even the decorations we choose for the Seder table:

(1) For your Seder this year consider downloading all or part of the “Earth Justice” Haggadah (pictured above), prepared by the Religious Action Center for Reform Judaism. For example, page 12 presents the “Ten Environmental Plagues” we face today.Download the Haggadah here: http://www.rac.org/sites/default/files/Earth%20Justice%20Seder%20Haggadah%20Mar%202016.pdf

 (2) Repair the World suggests practical ways to Green Your Passover both in preparing for the holiday (https://werepair.org/blog/green-your-passover-part-1-preparing-for-the-holiday/) and at the Seder celebration itself (https://werepair.org/green-your-passover-part-2-the-seders/). (3) And last but not least, the Christian Science Monitor (!!) offers 7 ways to make your Seder more sustainable (https://www.csmonitor.com/Business/The-Bite/2017/0410/Here-are-7-ways-to-make-your-Passover-seder-more-sustainable).  Wishing everyone a happy, healthy, and sustainable Passover!
